Tarry Lodge

Tarry Lodge By Jackson Cryder My first time at Tarry Lodge was my first exposure to fancy Italian food. This restaurant is owned by Mario Batali, an acclaimed Italian chef. His business partner, Joe Bastianach, (Son of Lydia Banstianach), is also an acclaimed Italian chef know for his harsh critiques. The dish I ordered was orrechiaetta with sausage and broccoli rabe. It was delicious. The bitterness of the broccoli rabe was contrasted with the spiciness of the sausage. The appetizer we order was a pizza with Fontina cheese, jalapenos, and meatballs. Every family member we took there was weirded out with that combination but once they took a bite, they realized they were dead wrong. Although the jalapeno was spicy, the cheese numbed it a little and the meatball added layers of flavor. Jackson C.

Jackson...
Where is this Tarry Lodge?
I have been to a number of Mario Batali's restaurants in NYC. I am typically impressed.
One of my favorites is Eataly, which, although a complete tourist trap, serves some of the
best grilled squid that I have ever eaten.
