Learning in the Kitchen
Most of my life, my parents have made me my meals due to their talent in the kitchen. After watching them cook for so long, I started to get interested in how to cook and different secrets that my parents use in their recipes. This curiosity is what influenced me to enroll in culinary class, and further my knowledge in the culinary arts.
The most recent experience I had in the kitchen was making cheeseburgers. But just like every other food made in my house, I had to add my own twist. Before I cooked the ground beef, I mixed in jalapeno peppers, hot sauce, and chili powder. Instead of taking the traditional route and using a grill, I put the meet in a pan on the stove and covered it on top. This exploits the steaming technique, something I acquired from Ted’s Restaurant in Meridan. While the beef was being steamed, I put jalapenos on top of it, and then covered the jalapenos with pepper jack cheese. All of these components mixed together created a very spicy, but delicious burger.

Troy...
Not only did you steam your burger, but you also seared your burger, thereby caramelizing the juices as they collected on the underside of the burger.
Nice.
Did you name the burger?
You should call it the...
I'll leave that to you.
